4 inch blade, 5 inch handle. You can get a good sturdy one for 50 or 60 bucks and there's no reason to spend any more on a flashier one unless it's going in a display case. But it's not. Fixed blade is good because you can get a nice sheath that mounts on the front of your body armor to aid in a quick transition from a weapon that just went down to the knife. This is great to have as I don't think anyone here has never had a gun jam on them, and when you're entering and clearing rooms is not the time to not have a backup.

Or he can do what I did and carry a hatchet. But that's just because I thought it was hilarious.

I am going to add a tomahawk of some kind to my possibles. I have looked at SOG to and also have a raid road spike wanting to be hammered out. I really like these traditional ones from Crazy Crow.

I haven't had one jam, have had one taken out of the fight. I was clearing a house, and posted on a closed door just waiting for others to free themselves and join me to enter and clear. I made the cherry mistake of turning my head to see what was taking so long, and fuck if an SOB didn't run out of the door and straight into me. Pinned my rifle between us as we danced for a second, so shooting was out of the question. I had a Cold Steel SRK on my vest, but the sheath somehow folded on itself when I reached for it (didn't have a pistol for backup) and I couldn't get the damn thing out. Interesting day. Bought a new, better sheath VERY quickly after that.
