Hello Rangers,

My name is CPL . I am a veteran of OEF. I came into the military in 2000. I did basic at Fort Jackson, then AIT at Fort Lee. My MOS is supply specialist.
My first duty station was Fort Drum. My unit was HHC 10th MTN DIV. I went to OEF on Dec 6th 2001 and returned in May 15th 2002.
It seems that Rangers or Ranger tabbed soldiers have been present throughout my time in the Army. When I arrived at basic one of my drill SGT's had just come from the Ranger Regiment. When we would go on a road march he would slap the stop sign hand. My company commander at AIT had a tab. When I arrived at Drum the 1SG, CO, the XO and the training room NCO had tabs. Two of the officers I worked with at G4 had tabs. I even encounter Colonel Steele from Blackhawk Down on a number of occasions.
I have read " No Excuse Leadership" and " The Coveted Black and Gold ", and I am also reading " Ghost Soldiers " and " A More Elite Soldier ".
My 1SG at Drum a 1SG Sharp though I was better off trying for SF, but he also told me Afghanistan to go out and prove people wrong. After a grueling day at the defac I asked him what Ranger School was like, he told me that I should imagine working in a defac for 65 days.

Welcome! The individuals on this sight have much more interesting things to say than what you might find in any literature.

don't forget the old adage...."The Tab is a school and the Scroll is a way of life."
