toenails?

Painting them pink will keep them from turning black. Seriously though, several of the guys I worked with up in the NW rainforests got a foot fungus (it's from having soaked feet all the time) which made their toenails turn black and eventually fall off. Seems like they came across some kind of prescription meds which helped.

It's been so long ago that I can't recall the name of the fungus, the name of the meds, or even my own name.. :? You might try running a search on some of those medic sites. We also have our own in-house medical wizard (Doc). You might shoot Doc a PM and pick his brain. Good luck.

Get new feet. That's what I recommend. I hear the price of a foot has gone down on the black market, check it out.

This may be a stupid question, but do your running shoes fit properly? My toes used to bleed around my toenails on my runs at Bat. I finally splurged for a better pair of running shoes and it stopped.

I didn't think you'd have the fungus problem, as you're in Florida. It's a real problem in the Pac NW, though.

No, really; listen to these guys. I had similar problems and they all stemmed from improperly fitted shoes. Some brands run narrower, some wider; it all depends on YOUR feet.

Your feet were not designed by the Ranger in the Sky to function in shoes, boots, ballet slippers,etc. Shoes cause all kinds of foot problems.I was reading a study that found that people who live in places where shoes are not normaly worn do not suffer the kinds of foot problems that we do. You will have to wear boots and other foot wear in the Army, so take the before mentioned advice and buy a better fitting pair of shoes. Take care of your feet and they will take care of you.
