Re: Introduction-Gabriel
Welcome to ArmyRanger.com Gabriel. You're 17 years old, you can talk to a recruiter today if you want to. Sometimes obtaining an OPT40 can be challenging, I'd recommend you start that conversation earlier unless you have other specific goals to accomplish first.
Before you post again here or in any other section of this site ensure you look for and read any announcements or stickies BEFORE you post. There are rules here, and you've already violated two of them. 1. Capitalize Ranger on this website at all times. 2. Strive to use proper grammar and punctuation to the best of your ability.
Why do you want to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment? What are these stress fractures from?

Re: Introduction-Gabriel
You don't have to be impressively fit to speak to a recruiter. You can start that process any time you want. Up to you though.
The pain you are talking about sounds more like an issue with your shoes. What type of shoes are you running in?
If you currently cannot run, administer a self APFT for push-ups, sit-ups and chin-ups. Post your results here. Use a search engine or this site if you are unsure of how to conduct one!

Re: Introduction-Gabriel
Yep, you do have work to do but that's a good starting point. Taking a new APFT every 4-6 weeks is good to keep a measure of your progress so you can know if you are going somewhere or maybe need to try a new work out.
If your shoes are new that is potentially a cause of your pain/discomfort. Especially if you weren't running much and/or running in very worn down shoes. Obviously I don't know what type of injury you really have but try easing into running in new shoes - particularly if you haven't been doing much.

Re: Introduction-Gabriel
Definitely try to be careful when buying shoes! But that is good you found that out. That may or may not be part of the pain issue. Either way, once you get some regular running shoes, you'll be in a better spot.Gabriel2000 wrote: ↑April 17th, 2018, 10:58 am Well Ranger Disinfertention come to find out the shoes i bought are "Competition" shoes. in a nutshell they aren't good for daily running or training in general, they are good for race day and thats it. thank God i bought them at Kohl's so i can return them and get a actual running shoe

Re: Introduction-Gabriel
I don't think I have heard of a GORUCK event. I will have to Google it to see what that is all about. Do you have your own rucksack? If so, what kind is it?
