Introduction - Marvin

Post by marvinjs1023 »

Hello, My name is Marvin (last name deleted by Admin Steadfast, do not put your last name in any more post Marvin). I am 18 years old I graduated high school 2 years ago. I enlisted last month at New York MEPS and will be shipping this Tuesday the 23rd to Fort Jackson. I always aspire to be the best I can be and with that I mind my goal is to reach the 75th Ranger Regiment. Unfortunately when it came time to select my MOS there were no infantry slots available and the only MOS with Option 40 was 92G food service specialist, so that was my decision, to enlist as 92G looking to Reclass to infantry when possible. I understand the difficulties in become a Ranger and I am ready to face the challenge . Would any of the Rangers on this site have information on how reclassification works in the Regiment ? I understand that "Ranger qualified soldiers may request reclassification to infantry 11X regardless of the IN/OUT calls". Any info would be greatly appreciated ! Regardless I would be more that happy to be a 92G in the regiment and would perform my duties to the best of my abilities. RLTW!

.
Welcome to the home of US ARMY Rangers marvinjs1023. Your time here is very short, just days 'til you leave. Actice Duty (thats you marvin) are not permitted to put their last names in post. Read our FAQ's. Read some of the post in this forum to learn how to address Rangers on this site. Are you going to continue communicating with our site (more than this one week before you leave?) to get help for the tan beret?
One more thing, do not use RLTW until you, yourself is a Ranger. You have to earn the right before you use it.

My apologies Ranger Steadfast for not reading the faqs prior to posting on this forum. I do plan on continuing to use this site for advice and information on my journey to become a ranger specially while I am at AIT. Thank you for the welcome.

Welcome Marvin, I see you are about to enter IET. While you are at AIT, you can expect the Ranger Regiment will send their recruiters to try to get you to go to Airborne and RASP. Prepare yourself for the opportunity; and keep us updated on your progress. Never, never qiit!
