I was doing a search on information about the Boston bombing and came across this photo. I love it! Looks like BPD has their own mini Ranger School going. Keep up the good work Officers.

Looks like they do not enjoy crawling around in the January mud than we did. Good find.rangerjd wrote:http://bpdnews.com/

That looks like it sucks. Good on the one instructor in shorts. He might not be wet and miserable yet, but at least he's showing that he's willing to suffer as well.

Nothing but a thing Brother. It's good for people to suffer on occasion.

I understand the whole ''shared misery'' concept of bonding with your Brothers, I REALLY do. What I don't understand is how crawling around in the mud is going to make them better police officers.

They're seeing who is going to quit Poke. As easy as it is, to us anyway, you still get a few people in every class who quit in the first couple days of PT and getting hollered at. Some are civilians that never served and some are even Veterans.Slowpoke wrote:I understand the whole ''shared misery'' concept of bonding with your Brothers, I REALLY do. Real similar to the ones that quit during defensive tactics right after they get punched in the mouth for the first time when they are "fighting" with someone. In a controlled environment. With no chance of injury other than a fat lip or bloody nose.

Re: Boston Police Academy-Photo of the day
Hell, I broke my shoulder a year ago in DT, and kept training for the last 30 minutes. Wasn't until the adrenaline wore off and I got in my truck did I realize there was a real problem. That being said, I wish they'd push more of our candidates like that in SC. They, like so many other careers, are lowering the standard to fill a position. I'm glad some places have their crap together still.
