No disrespect intended, Ranger Jim. I simply wanted to expand my recruiter's response onto the information you supplied for me.

He also explained the process of obtaining a RASP slot in AIT, and encouraged me to contact a Ranger Liaison through the 75th Ranger Regiment Recruiting website once I start AIT.

According to your projected ship date you're 3 years late for formation.

If that same mistake, one number, as simple and innocent as it was, is made somewhere overseas under fire when you can barely hear yourself think and you're crouched behind a 3' x 3' mud wall that's disintegrating around you by the second, while dialing up a now useless frequency or calling a grid for CAS, you could wipe out your whole team.

Sounds overly dramatic for the circumstances here but that's the reality of attention to detail and a big reason it's stressed so much here.

It's a good day when you learn something. Make everyday a good day.

If you have signed a contract, then you need to fix your signature line to the DEP standard.

Evening Rangers, just got back from MEPS.

My recruiter had brought me for a Med Inspect and consult, which was easy enough. I got to the Army office to speak with a guidance counselor to discuss shipdates and a MOS. I told her that my choice is 68W. 100%, and she told me that there are no slots available. I told her that my recruiter told me that there were slots to which she replied that I was talking to her and not my recruiter. Fair enough. After about 10 minutes of saying I won't do anything without 68W on my contract, she gets on the line with the ROC. After about an hour, she calls me in and tells me that the ROC says there are no slots available.

My recruiter told me that he is going to get me that slot, and not to worry. So now I'm playing the waiting game again. Oh well, I'm glad I stood my ground on this, she tried to get me to sign an 88M contract.

Great job holding your ground, continue to do so. Remember, the Recruiters job in many instances is to fill slots, your job is to make sure you get what you want. Never quit, never give up and continue to drive on. RLTW

I took a needed hiatus from electronics, Ranger Jim. I apologize for not informing you and the other Rangers, it was somewhat of a snap decision.

I noticed that my mind and body seemed to be lagging, and spending a lot of time n the computer/phone/play station felt like the reason why. So I boycotted all of it and just PT'd, ate healthy, got a closer grip within my parish, overall I feel like it really helped me.

My PT results as of Wednesday, March 4th(Last time I administered a PT test)

PU: 96
SU:103
2 Mile: 12:32
Pull-ups: 27

I suffered a bicep injury, from what I believe to be overtraining, and for that my push-up score suffered, but it is slowly healing.

Concerning my enlistment: After the situation at MEPS, my recruiter thinks he'll be able to get me a spot in April/May. The only thing that I'm worried about is that my physical expires in July, and with my waiver, my recruiter explained that it would be tricky restarting the process. He's confident he can get me a slot before that though.
