Rangers,
I have approximately 15 days until my ship date (2014 04 29) and I am excited to begin my journey. I feel both mentally prepared and physically ready, and am grateful for the wealth of knowledge that I gained from this site in the past couple of weeks.
I am happy to have an 11x Option 4 but I am still trying to update to an Option 40 with the couple of weeks that I have left. When I first asked for an 11x Opt 40, my recruiters straight up told me it was impossible to even get an 11x alone, but I managed to get one with airborne. I recently asked them to call/email the liaison at MEPs to check for any option 40s that I could update into my contract but they haven't responded. If anybody could assist me with that or has any knowledge on that, I'd greatly appreciate it. Otherwise I will work hard in OSUT/Airborne and earn a RASP spot.
I will continue to post SITREPs throughout OSUT and Airborne when I can. Best of luck to all other future soldiers and never quit. Thanks again, Rangers.

Re: SITREP - Andrew
Quick update:
For the past couple of days, I have tried to have my recruiters call the MEPS guidance counselor to check the system in possibility of getting my contract updated. But I've just been told that they do not have the authority to contact MEPS directly and that the current GC's are both relatively new on the job and wouldn't know how to update a contract anyway. I even spoke to the First Sergeant in our area, but I got the same response. If only I could call them myself, right? It sucks to know that, right now, the only thing standing between me and the chance of a guaranteed shot at RASP, is a phone call that can't be made and "new" guidance counselors. I will keep at it for the next couple of weeks but if nothing still, I will work hard in OSUT/Airborne.
Also, we had a surprise PT test at FS training yesterday:
PU: 100
SU: 92
2 mile: 13:35
That run needs work.

Re: SITREP - Andrew
Rangers,
I just got back from MEPS and attained an 11x option 40 contract. It is a huge relief and I couldn't be happier. It was not an easy process, but my contract was updated and I am now five days out from ship date. I'd like to thank PerryB for his time and assistance and I am lucky to have had his help through the process.
Ranger Jim, I have memorized the Ranger Creed and my pull-ups are at 25.
I will be sure to post a SITREP for OSUT, Airborne, and then RASP. Thanks again to all the Rangers here and good luck to other future soldiers.

You have good Pt numbers. 25 pull ups is where the black hats (in BAC) will watch you with pride.Jim wrote:OK, Andrew, you will be getting your chance at11X Option 40. Earn this! Never, never quit!
Stay away from the dirtbags, align yourself with men that think as you do & do pt to get to Regiment with your Opt 40.
Stay clear of trouble makers, stay focused on your 25meter target - to be a Ranger.
Never, never quit.
