Introduction-Garrett

Post by Giant »

Hello Rangers,

My name is Garrett, I'm 21 years old and currently in my last semester of college. I have been considering the Military for a couple years now, and early in the fall I decided to take action and figure out what exactly I was going to do after graduation. I looked into each branch and eventually settled on the Army. The more research I did, the more I realized that the 75th Ranger Regiment is the unit I want to serve with. So at the start of 2014 I went to my local recruiter and told him I wanted an option 40 contract, and in an incredible bit of luck I was able to obtain one. I spent Monday and Tuesday at MEPS taking the ASVAB and getting a physical, and Tuesday I signed my 11X option 40 contract and swore in. I'm on the delayed entry program to finish out college, and I ship out to Benning May 27. Needless to say I'm incredibly excited and went ahead and conducted a self pt test:
Push-ups: 88
Sit-ups: 85
Pull-ups: 15
2 Mile run: 12:15

I'm hoping to be able to improve all 4 significantly before May. Furthermore I would greatly appreciate any advice from anybody who's gone before me.

Absolutely not Ranger Jim. I'm actually starting the 12 week RASP training plan tomorrow with a local buddy. I'll post updates on my progress on the workout thread.
