I got this from one of your post: http://www.special-ops.org/lrs-long-ran ... nce-units/
from what I read I think I am entitled to display my unit affiliation. Since it comes from LRRP to LRS, but if anyone would ask me if I was a Ranger, I would tell them that I was with an affiliated unit.

Re: The Scroll and its Lineage.
I, personally, am not a fan of it. But, I no longer argue with LRS guys about it.
But, if you look at this link: http://www.history.army.mil/html/forces ... 0075ra.htm
You will notice your unit is not mentioned. Also, although the Army doesn't recognize them as part of our lineage, we recognize the lettered RVN LRRP Ranger Companies as part of it. You'll notice that your unit doesn't fall under one of them either. It is true that the unit that your current unit came from, F/51st LRS, had members go to the new Ranger companies, but I would hardly call that a direct correlation to your current unit.
You have a current unit patch, why not wear that and be proud of it? LRS is a bad ass job, no sense in trying to be cool by association. The Ranger Regiment technically shares lineage with SF, but we don't go around rocking their stuff - we got our own stuff we are proud of. Again, I don't care enough to argue it to great length - it is what it is. But above is basically the justification for my opinion.
