You hit the nail on the head about SERE. The best and worst school there is in the Army. Keep up the drive. Have a good one and don't quit.

Sending quick SITREP:

Finishing up MOS Phase, heading out to Robin Sage in March, graduation set for April!

The 18 Echo course was very solid. In a short period of time we learned everything from HF to dedicated SATCOMs. The instructors, who are all retired Special Forces, were amongst the best teachers I have ever had the privilege to learn from.

I like re-reading some of my old posts on this website. In 2005 I was a college freshmen going into the Air Force. Sitting here, 7 years later I still cannot believe I'm less than 60 days from winning the Green Beret. Next month will be the time to put together everything we have learned and finish the course every bit as strong as it started!

Quick edit here: Ranger Lunch, you mentioned simplicity, that's so spot on. During a recent FTX my team had some serious issues making commo with an RT. We built every damn antenna in the book. Dipole, inverted V, long wire, short wire, nail in the tree, you name it. Our general consensus was the more complicated the antenna the better SWR we could get. Nothing worked. Not even close. Finally, we strung an antenna straight up in the air about 30' and BOOM. Perfect commo! Keeping it simple.

You didn't "win" crap. You went out, grabbed it by the balls and "earned" it.
I think he was alluding to "The Ballad of The Green Beret".

Walk this Thursday heading to 1/10 Germany, cannot wait. Sage was unreal, awesome training experience. I think there's an article in the Raleigh paper about my team. We jumped 100lbs rucks at night, moved around 7-8k on foot, only to have guns pointed at us all night. Sending messages in the rain while everyone else was racked out and damn near got flooded out of our base due to the rain. Worst part was, we loved every second of it.

Last SITREP for SFQC, hopefully the next thread is SITREP Ranger school.
