April 4, 1968
Let us bow our heads for on that date 2 things happened.
MLK, Jr was killed & I entered service.
Strictly a coincidence.

7 and 8-01
It was so much fun in Florida that I wanted to stick around for a second trip through the swamps.

Fatboy knows how to make the rest of us REALLY feel like a part of history....I mean, most everyone is coming in with dates in the '60s and '70s, and his is fucking '01!

And the sad thing for me is all these newer Rangers that have dates like '09, '10, or '11. Where the fuck did 10 years go? (Or 30 or 40...)
And to really make rub salt in the wounds- some of you went to school and /or combat and returned long before I was even around

Re: Ranger History
About 30 years ago I was writing to a now deceased BDQ bemoaning the fact it had been 10 years since VN and how the time had slipped past. VN vets are now older than WWII vets were when we were in VN. Kinda spooky.fatboy wrote:Slowpoke wrote:Fatboy knows how to make the rest of us REALLY feel like a part of history....I mean, most everyone is coming in with dates in the '60s and '70s, and his is fucking '01!
