EarthQuake on east coast

Post by Steadfast »

Sitting in my easy chair I felt it start swaying about approx. 1:55 pm.

I got up and looked out the window to see this enormus tree still standing & did not come down on my house.
I went & took a drive to pick something up started listening to news radio station - announcer was saying people are pouring out of buildings in NYC - seems no damage reported so far.
Reported 5.9 on earthquake scale - center around Richmond Va & felt all the way to New England and down along coast below VA.

Now East Coast is getting ready for Hurricane Irene.

Holy crap.

Happened to be home today. We were sitting on the deck and it shook/moved the chairs we were sitting in. I initially thought if was one of the Blackhawks/Chinooks that come in low at West Point.

That's a first.

I did not notice anything.

Edited to add: Apparently I am the only one here who didn't feel it. I guess I am just use to feeling the earth tremble from my awesomeness.

The epicenter of the East Coast Earthquake was pinpointed to a small graveyard outside of Washington, D.C. where all of the founding fathers rolled over in their graves at once.

The Obama Administration has declared the graveyard a 'Significant Geological Feature' and has directed the National Geological Survey Office to name it in honor of his predecessor. It shall hereafter be known as "Bush's Fault."

Funny.

I won't ruin it with real history. Like some other people who shall go unnamed.
