I'm done with Production now. Good to be back to Single Stack. Just got my pistol back yesterday. Sent it to Freedom Gunworks to have it tri-topped and finished in Atranite. Atranite is similar (very) to the Melonite that S&W uses on M&P's. It's VERY black. It's a metal treatment where the black color is a by product, the surface protection and hardness is the primary function. I like it. I have had magazines done as well as my 6" 2011 STI.

Ion bond is line of sight, this is a chemical process that can be done inside barrels even. M&P and Glock barrels are done inside and out. Can't remember the Rockwell on it but it is above hard chrome. Like a Glock finish even if the black wears the metal is still protected.
