Jarheads will do anything to get out of 29 palms. Smart move, if you ask me. Too bad Rangers aren't quite that smart.
I'd rather go to RS and play wet nurse to a bunch of dogface marine wannabees ... than be stationed at 29 palms.
Whoever told you that story must have stuttered ... m-m-m-m-m-m ... its only one "m"."27mm, Gunny. Does that break the record?"
When the Marine Corps flew me to Okinawa, they had to charter a separate 747 ... just to carry my "package".

You must be confusing me, with another Evil Genius.
Was it considered HAZMAT due to the batteries needed to operate it?
Yes ... go on.

Re: Been Leading the Way for a Long Time
This thread reminds me of an old story posted in a newspaper from a Marine Base in Kalifornia circa 1990-91?
It was titled "Marines Misjudge the Enemy".
Story goes something like this, some of you will remember it. I wish I still had a copy of the article, maybe one of you Google Jedi's would know how to find it.
There were 3-4 young Ranger NCO's from the Sniper Section attending a school out there. They were prolly about 23-25 yrs old as SSG's and Sgt's, but with the Ranger high-n-tight haircut and in street clothes, appeared more like new recruits to these Marines out looking for fun.
So it went with this group of young Marines inside Anthony's Pizza, who thought they would have some fun with the new "boot recruits" drinking beer, laughing and chatting it up in 'their AO'.
Well, the Marines had some words for the "new" guys and as the story went in the paper, the Rangers reacted with their fists and not their mouths, clearing the entire pizza shop and dragging the young Marines outside in a flurry of fists and legs and boots.
As word had it, 6 MP style cruisers showed up and the Ranger NCO's were still whalloping them outside.
You just never know who you're talking too, unless you know who you're talking too.

Yeah ... and how's that "Army of One" thing working out for you? ... you find the guy yet?So the Marines have had the motto "looking for a few good men" for some 30 years now.
Haven't they found any? At least a few?
Geez, I guess its a good thing I'm a Ranger ... whew.It was titled "Marines Misjudge the Enemy".
That's pretty cool, Lunch.Verne Troyer
I figure the guy is not in the best of health, seems to suffer a lot of pain ... so I give him a pass on being a jerk sometimes.
