I'm trying to be a Ranger but...
There's a lot of complicated stuff. Like I plan on doing Guard 1st because I want to do ROTC. I know with ROTC i can become Ranger-Qualified, but I wanna be in a Ranger Batt. Also now that I've been gathering info and I might not go to the Guard and ROTC. I might just go straight in. If I take the officer's route how will I get into a Ranger Unit(I'll be 11B) with PS involved?

I can only answer a part of this question but I don't think you can get into a Ranger Batt when serving with the guard. One of the recruiting briefings I went to recently said "strictly active duty". Though when I was in the Guard for a short time, we had a handful of officers who did their first enlistment active duty, got their tab and just went back to the guard. I'll let one of the Rangers on here answer the rest on what it takes to get into a batt as an officer.

Thanks and a part of my original plan was to go Active after my Officer's Commission.soldier7489 wrote:I can only answer a part of this question but I don't think you can get into a Ranger Batt when serving with the guard.
