Introduction

Post by Jgang »

Joined 1987 unguided and clueless, Went thru Harmony Church Ft. Benning GA. Sept. 1987-Dec, 1987. 11B, On to A co. 4/27 Wolfhounds 25th ID.(Light) the beginning of 1988. Made E-4 before the end of Summer with my only desire being that of the Tab. A "lucky" slot for R.I.P. became available February of 1989 at the 25th. Ignoring the profile I was on, I went with the full confidence of graduating top team and on to Benning for the real deal. I fell short that Spring in the last 12 hours of R.I.P. All the points that were needed and in top spot with my Ranger Buddy, I went down a gulch and my knee out of service. Future Rangers carried me to the road and continued on to accomplish the mission. Everyone that graduated that class retuned with their tab later that Fall. Well Done!!! I returned to the civilian life on a medical knowing my opportunity at becoming a Ranger was no longer within reach. I took everything I learned from that experience in my life and continue to use it daily. Joining the ranks on this site is an honor and privilidge. I owe great gratitude to the men I served with. Especially those Rangers who helped instill the qualities of which I am proud to be passing on to my two young sons. Unsure that this is S.O.P. for introductions, Thanks for setting me straight Steadfast. Rangers do lead the way.
