About your question: a very definite maybe. The USAF was only independent in 1947 and it didn't develop a lot of organizational infrastructure until later.
The army provided all the construction engineer assets for example. In the Korean War era, the engineer units that built and maintained airfields were catagorized "Special Catagory Army Assigned Air Force" or "SCARF". These were organized as battalions and might have had their own MP platoons. The services were a lot more flexible back then, men could be detailed to MP units just because they were big & bad. A trained infantryman might've wound up playing MP at an air base SCARF outfit. By Korea, the air force also had their own cops, called "Air Police". Anyone with more than 3-5 years seniority would've had to have been prior army.
Not a "no shit" answer here, but it is possible.
