I have been out of the Army for about 3 years now, I was a 11C. After Airborne school I got stuck at 1/509 at Fort Polk playing OPFOR for JRTC. Im sure I have crossed paths with some of you guys. Feb 2006 we did a rotation with 1/75. The rotation lasted about 3 days, mainly as a DZ capture scenario. That was the best/fastest fight I have ever had. I believe a Ranger became a towed jumper that night. However, we had a lot of good rotations and it was rather fun at times. I was discharged in 2007 and had developed compartment syndrome in both legs, I wanted the surgery but my doc wife urged against it. I never really felt like I accomplished my mission in Army. I had wanted to go to Ranger School and fight with the best. I was slotted for school in 2006 but the compartment syndrome held me back, I pushed through the pain for a few months thinking it may just be shin splints. I was still scoring in the 300 range of my PT test but after a while it became to much and I could barely get 100m before my feet went numb. I watched as my buddies went through pre-ranger and left without me. Since I have been out I have been fortunate enough to graduate college, within 3 years, with a Finance degree and finish my MBA so I can't say it was a total bust.

I am looking for a particular Ranger that finished RIP in Nov 2005. I went through basic and airborne with him.
