TIME! Is marching on.
And time.. is still marching on.
This day will soon be at an end and now it's even sooner.

Or a better way of saying it.......and even older:

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

I got yelled at by my squad leader for saying that once. We were at mortar point 4 on Ft. Stewart, and the rain was coming down so hard that you couldn't see 20 ft. in front of you. Lighting was striking all over around us and everyone was huddled in the vehicles (I was in 3ID at the time) like a bunch of fucking pansies. So I grabbed the aiming stakes for our gun, held them up in the sky, and yelled "The rain god is a pussy!"

I am an idiot. If there was any justice in the world I WOULD have been struck by lighting. 8)

I got yelled at for drawing the feared Rain Turtle once....or twice. Then smoked till I couldn't breathe when it started raining. God love my old team leader.

Negative, negative, negative. You know as well as I do, at Ft. Lewis, you either learn to love the rain and use it as an advantage, or you live fucking miserably.

Most times when the sun came out fella's went running around screaming about the end of the world.

We held a PT test yesterday for some new applicants to our Tm. Pouring rain and 30-40 mile an hr winds, felt just like home.

(They actually did pretty good as far as not whining, but only 4 out of 7 passed the PT portion.)

Odin Image

In the hall of the slain
Valkyries and heroes attend me
Ravens and wolves at my side
Forever they did befriend me

I paid an eye for a drink of mead
And was given wisdom supreme
Granted to me the secrets
Of magic, of life and death

Ah.. Speared hung upside down
Nine days and nights no food nor mead
The will to be a sacrifice
Of myself unto myself

Wisdom and rhyme
Sorcery, death living inside me
Of life and death I am king
For both do I bring by sword and spear and ring

Raise thy weapons on this day
Ye shall not die alone

Fight and die let Valkyries fly
For they shall take thee home

I promise thee that on this night
Ye shall be by my side

Asgard's halls await with hero's
Brothers that have died

For thee we wait at Asgard's gates
Come join us by our side

Valhalla waits so choose thy fate
For all of us must die!

I have often wondered why it is conservatives are called the"right" and the liberals are called the "left." By chance stumbled upon this verse in the Bible: "The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left." (Ecclesiastes 10:2, NIV)
