If you get the Option 40, post it immediately.

If you get the Option 40 and want a mentor, PM me as to why I should take you on as a mentee.

Today my recruiter reserved an Option 40 slot for me. I'll be going down to MEPS on Thursday to take the Airborne Physical. If all goes well I'll finally have my Option 40.

damn MEPS doctors are assholes sometimes. Could someone please explain to me why you can't go to airborne school to jump out of an airplane at 1200 feet, but it is perfectly ok for you to fly down to basic, afghanistan or wherever traveling at 37000 feet? I had a kid last week lose his 18x contract because he has a pin in his shin that doesnt even need to be there anymore, but it dq'd him from the airborne phys., yet we have one-legged jumpmasters out in the army doing great things! makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I always had heartache with those same scenarios, knowing that once you are IN THE ARMY it won't fucking matter. We shoot ourselves in the foot regarding our possible applicants because of jackassery such as you referenced. Fucking USAREC.
