Well,
I first want to thank you all for the info you have given me directly as well as all the other motivational insight this forum has to offer!

I am now finishing up my packing to head the family and myself back to Indiana (staging ground for family) until I ship to WTC in Fort Sill in November. I will be using that time to prepare myself, mind and body for my new future career. As stated before, I don't have a 40 contract, but that isn't going to stop me..
I guess I am lucky to have this time to do the SF workout I found on the Internet. I will be posting SITREPS along the way.. Might have questions, but nothing will stand in my way of getting the "tan beret" and tab. Again, thanks for the support! And good health to you all.

~note to other roaches~

Shut up and listen, work hard
(and watch your spelling!)

I once spent a looong weekend in Richmond. A few hours there actually makes for a loong weekend.

Very friendly place actually. but if you need something to do, the local nurse corps can be accomodating.

ah...nostalgia.

Former marines are great raw material to make great Rangers, I hope you get your shot.

I do too.. I want it bad (I am happy to get the second chance at ailitatu career.) alot of priors going bak really piss me off in the fact that they take for granted this shot.. "I want my rank, enlistment bonus, the f*cking world!"
"I have moral waivers my health sucks,, I was a dirt bag.. "

Granted I had to get re code waiver for my foot injury from the corps. But I am not pissed at all about going to e2.. Yea joined to financially stabilize my family, but not to get rich.. I have red white and blue running though my veins.. I just hope to get my shot.

Ps... You must not have been to Richmond recently... Everythings closed up... "gangsta thugs" and booze are the highlights..no jobs etc.
Sad really. I grew up the next town over so I had it better.. But wife and kids will be around family for my training.

Sir, I was 30 when I joined the Army. In BCT, I quickly aquired the name "Pops". 3 years later (while attending the Academy of Health Sciences at
F. Sam Houston) I ran a PT 2-mile in 11 minutes. You will do just fine.

Greenjarhead,
Sir, please do not address me as "Ranger" merlyn. I am NOT a Ranger.
I was an Army medic in the following: 1st Medical Group, Darnell Army
Hospital, Ft Polk Army Hospital, 21st Field Evac Hospital, 41st MASH
507th Dustoff, Walter Reed and Brook Army Medical Centers. Rangers
are elite military warriors. If you plan to use this website to your fullest
advantage; pay very close attention to the advice these men give you.
They have certainly earned the right to do so. Thank you, and my best
to you in all you do. Keep in touch.

If its any encouragement, I went through RIP with a 30 something former Marine, and I know two Rangers who went to Ranger School in there early 40's and graduated, one is an E-5 now and the other is a Corporal.
