RASP Not Sending 11B Grads to Regiment?

Post by Fate »

Hello!

It's been a while, but to quickly annotate a sitrep:

-I'm in tower week of Airborne; things are going well. RASP contract still intact and no injuries or illnesses to speak of. Graduated from Bravo Co 2-19 on the 27th of May. We got to be the company there for the dedication of the Vietnam Wall memorial at the National Infantry Museum, so I suppose that was pretty cool.
-Three cadre here (black hats) have told me on separate occasions that their friends over in the RTB conducting RASP have said that the Ranger Regiment is full on 11B.
-When I first moved in to Airborne we were released for Memorial Day weekend shortly after a couple of briefings. In our formation area were four or so men in ACU's and tan berets, but were lacking the Ranger Scroll. Seemed strange, and the theory that has been concocted is that they graduated RASP to only be turned away from a full Regiment.

I'm just looking for some clarification. Me and my other RASP candidates are a bit discerned over this, to say the least.

Thanks,
Mark

I remember hearing all kinds of outlandish shit in Jump School, and I went 30 years ago.

Just forget about it. Go out and run in the heat of the day. Far. Fast. If you can run when the day is at its hottest for an hour or two, then you are tracking. That cardio will come in handy.

Unless things have utterly changed.

Additionally, remember that every (I mean every Male and Female) that work at RTB wear the "Tan Beret".....so you were probably seeing some from there.

I went through Basic, AIT and ABN with a guy from my MEPS station (he and I were pretty good friends). During jump school he heard a rumor that Rangers were not allowed to be married so he quit jump school????

Actually Fate, I think you are really the only one that won't be going. The rest of them will probably get in.
