Intro: 1/75 Ranger
Hello everyone, my name's Jordan and I'm a Ranger from 1/75 who's converted over to the "dark side" (contracting), and figured this would be a good way to find some of my brothers. Still trying to get familiar with the site, so bare with me.
Here's my "stats": I graduated RIP in Feb 04, and got out in Oct 08. The only RIP instructor I can remember was SSG Fader at the time, who later came back to 1/75 to be a PSG. I vaguely remember a SSG Wood[s] there also, and I think he was from 3rd Batt. My Ranger School class was 07-06. Ironically, I only did one deployment in the line (A CO, 3rd Plt), and then went to Sniper Section where I served my remaining 3 deployments. It took me 2 tries to graduate Sniper School, but I finally graduated in Mar 07. Never got the chance to go to SOTIC. My 1SG for the majority of time in was 1SG Perkins.
I went to RIP with SGT Sanchez, and were extremely close friends. We both got caught with dip in our wall lockers and were put on extra duty for 2 weeks. We spoke of Savannah, GA like it was this mystical place, almost like it was the damn promised land or something. Right before we both deployed in August (me as a contractor), Rob helped me move all of my stuff into my Uhaul, and then we had one last drink and I told him I'd get him a job once he was done saving the world. SGT Sanchez was the best Ranger I've ever served with - a Spartan who never bitched, never got complacent, never backed down an inch, and always put his brothers first.
It's an honor to be on this site and I look forward to catching up with other warriors. RLTW.

Re: Intro: 1/75 Ranger
Yeah, apparently he just put his 4187 in to go back to the Old Guard... He had a damn 3-tier tackle box filled with uniform items that he'd bust out prior to Ranger Ball or any board one of his guys would be going to. SSG Fader was probably the best PSG I've ever worked with. I was attached to his platoon on my 3rd deployment and he let my spotter and I do virtually anything we wanted... it was a good deployment.
Re: Intro: 1/75 Ranger
Please forgive my last post. Obviously at the time he was a PSG he was 'SFC Fader', not 'SSG'.

Damned fine young man Fader is. Not sure what all those chills are. Always saw him as a sweet dispositioned, gentle and quiet young man. Kinda like a Black Mamba is a cute snake.snafu wrote:Welcome...I graduated RIP in Dec 04 and had a lot of the same instructors you mentioned....8 months later I had most of them again for Pre-Ranger...I have to go now...just got the chills when I read the name "SFC Fader".

Re: Intro: 1/75 Ranger
Thanks to all who welcomed me. In regards to SFC Fader, I'm sure you guys can imagine how "effective" his platoon was in a combat zone... I was attached to his platoon (A3) as a sniper in the summer of 2007 in Iraq... damn it was fun. Everyone made it home, and we never ran out of "deer" to hunt.
