He said they want the 11X's to prove themselves as infantry men then they're given the opportunity to volunteer for airborne then Rasp but it won't be on my contract. I think it was just a bunch of BS.

Now you know you can't trust anything that dude tells you. Wait it out, or find a new recruiter.

Welcome to the site and good luck. As far as your recruiter goes, wait it out and get what you want...you have plenty of time.

Keep up the PT too. You have a ways to go. Upper body strength trainig at least twice a week and one of those needs to be weight free (ie: push ups, push ups, and more push ups). Also, don't forget about cardio. If you're cardiovascular system is in check, you can do pretty much anything! RUN RUN RUN.

Although today I re-self administered the PT Test to include the 2 mile.

I have a packed schedule next week full of PT, so I hope to better these scores on Friday when I do the test again.

The reason I tasked you with this early is that most young men think that they are in good shape -- when in fact they need a lot of work. Welcome to reality. You don't need a weekly test -- you will know what level you need to achieve. Never, never quit!

Don't take no for an answer. Simply tell your recruiter you want an option 40 or you aren't joining and walk. Make them work for you.

Good evening Rangers,
Thought I would post a little update...
After not liking how my previous recruiter was treating me like an idiot I switched recruiters. The guys at this station are real cool and straight forward.
I took the ASVAB today and scored a 57, I wish I did better but I am still happy.
My recruiter started to find what contracts were available and no option 40's came up. He knows that that is all I will accept, so he informed me there is a former Ranger at their station and is going to have him come in and talk to me.
Also, let me know what you guys think about this...
Another one of the recruiters there took me in his office and showed me a framed document stating that he was in 2/75th, but he didn't have the scroll on his shoulder and he wore a black beret rather then tan.
Other then that I am pretty excited to get the ball rolling.
