My favorite, LEE MARVIN (1924 - 1995)

He enlisted in the US Marine Corps when he was 17 years old and assaulted 21 beaches in the Pacific from Kwajelein to Saipan as a member of I Company, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division. In the battle for Saipan, of 247 men in his company, only he and five others survived. Marvin was wounded on Saipan, was evacuated to the hospital ship Solace, and spent 13 months recovering. At the same time Marvin was fighting in the Pacific his father fought in Europe as an Army Sergeant. Marvin chose to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with a simple marker identifying him only as a Marine, not a movie star

While working with Hollywood, both Rgrpuck and I came to the conclusion that the stupid people on earth are those in Hollywood. There are rare, few exceptions, but most are dumb. Really, really dumb. Amazingly dumb.

My theory is that they are all good looking. Very few are downright beautiful, most of us have flaws, but there are a few, very few "beautiful people". At a certain age, sometime in High School, they realize they are really good looking and then realize that with good looks, you don't need to do much anymore. No more studying, no more hard work. This concept is actually been studied, and it is true. Good looking people get promoted quicker and are able to influence others. However, they no longer need education. They can do without it. All around them people are telling them how great they are, so they come to believe that they are smart, well liked and their opinion is highly sought after.

However they are dumber than a bag of hammers. They look marvelous, but they are really, really stupid.

Val Kilmer could be their poster child.
Spot on. See it with hot chicks all the time.

As noted above "Lee Marvin" was the man! Another great one was actor "Charles Durning". He was Army Brat and served in WWII earning a silver star and purple heart (and if I remember right, I beleive he was a Ranger? Square me away if wrong guys).

As for Val Kilmer? Fuck him! If I EVER see that fag I'll "be his huckleberry" POS!

Another fag is Kevin Spacey. When I was running security at the Florida Supreme Court he came there to film movie "Recount". I get in the elevator with this POS and escort him upstairs to the courtroom, just him, me and a makeup lady. SO I just HAD to ask him "So how the heck is old Hugo (Chavez) doing?" Fag just looks at me, never says a word (Yes, I did contemplate throat punching him). Spacey actually has a "punk" that hangs out on set with him, lights his cigarettes and carries around his little foo foo fag dog. The only reason some people are alive is because its illegal to neutralize them.

I'd like to take Mr. Kilmer on a hunting trip. Just him and me, couple of M-16s, a few square miles of rain forest. You know, just to show him what it's like........TO GET SHOT AT!

He's a pretty boy, I agree with Jenny on that, but he's clearly a dumbhead. Doesn't even know what he doesn't know, yet thinks he's got it all nailed down tight.

None so blind as him who will not see, that's for sure.

I won't be spending any more money in his direction, nope.

Durning was a legit NW Europe combat vet who also landed on D-Day. I forget if he was in a combat engineer battalion all along or was an infantryman in the 1ID and wound up in the engineers after recovering from wounds. I might be crossing stories about Durning's record but he was certainly never in the Rangers.

Threads like this help me to understand how US magazine is popular.

Who really gives two shits what Val Kilmer or any other actor says?

It would appear that Kilmer has fallen into the trap so common to the Hollywood elites. Namely, they think that because they earned big buckets of money because the can act (or sing or whatever), that the world actually cares what they think. They seem to forget that for the most part, they didn't write the script (or lyrics or whatever). And generally, most people actually do NOT care what they think, especially on political issues. There are, of course a few notable exceptions; but that's just the point. Those are exceptions and they are few.
How many Hollywood careers have you seen begin to wane after the actor/singer/whatever waxed political? Wasn't it Bruce Springsteen who went political on stage at a concert, and got booed and told to "shut up and sing"?
It's perfectably acceptable for the Hollywood elites to exercise their First Amendment rights. But then, the rest of the country can exercise the other half of the right, and decline to be a part of the audience.
