Ranger John Dingle
Ranger Dingle wants to be in the RHOF. Anybody know him? Is he on ArmyRanger.com? He was offended that I wasn't going to nominate him. km

Subject: Nominee for the Ranger Hall of Fame
Hi,
I know this appears rather odd and out of character for me, but I would like to put my name in for the Ranger Hall of Fame. I was in 2/75 B co. from June 1983 to May 1986. I was Distinguished Honor Graduate of Ranger Class 11/84. I believe I meet the requirements of having successfully graduate from Ranger School. Like I stated in the beginning, this appears rather odd, but I am very proud of my Ranger accomplishments. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
John

Re: Ranger John Dingle
Which Ranger Hall of Fame? I am not from Regiment background, so may not be in the know. However, if we are talking about the Ranger Hall of Fame at RTB, just serving for 3 years in the Regiment and being HG from your class, does not compare to what most of the inductees have done. Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Re: Ranger John Dingle
That's fucked up! That's almost as bad as putting yourself in for the Medal of Honor, but it makes sense since he was in the S1 shop! Bwahahaha!

Re: Ranger John Dingle
Normally, nominations to the RHOF are made by the Ranger-related organizations: 75RRA, Merril's Marauders, or an Army Unit Commander; like CG, FORSCOM. I do not see anything precluding someone self-nominating themselves. But...

Can you think of one example of a RHOF self-nominee?

Re: Ranger John Dingle
Hey is was me that was the S1... Dingle was in a line company.
Not that I didn't try to get there. Just didn't work out for me.
He IS referring to the Ranger Hall of Fame at Benning. I believe each of the ranger organizations, including RTB and Regt get to nominate two per year to the selection committee. I don't think the by-laws allow individual nominations, but I could be wrong. I suggested he volunteer with one of the associations and maybe they would nominate him - he says he helps rangers at the mayo clinic, but didn't go into details. I suppose if he developed some high-speed prosthesis that would help his cause.

Seems to me the act of self-nomination would, all by itslef, render one unfit.panthersix wrote:Can you think of one example of a RHOF self-nominee?

I'm a life member of the USARA (#LLR3435) and agree that self nomination would make him unfit.

Re: Ranger John Dingle
I want to know if someone would nominate me. During my time in Battalion I was able to organize the road trip to New Orleans where there was much destruction and devastation to the local indiginous population, many vaginas consumed (some while they were still alive), midgets pummeled and their girls taken away, firetrucks stolen, gay bars fled from, organized a threesome with some law interns from Dallas, and quartering 20 Rangers in a Motel 6. All of this was done with no serious fatalities on our own and no buddies left behind.
Oh, and I was such a true example of the Ranger lifestyle that I convinced one teenager to join the Rangers. I have heard he is doing well in the military at this time, though he does look like Gilligan when he has dip in.
So, when can I get my award? Do I have to show up, or can you mail it to me?

I'll nominate you for the ArmyRanger.com HOF. But without pix, you may not get enough votes......rgrokelley wrote:I want to know if someone would nominate me.
