Love your avatar, that's classic.

Always liked Ruger, more for sentimental reasons than practical. Seemed I always had one at some key point in lfe.
I was in 2d Bn in 1976, our medic collected Rugers & that was the time to do so as Ruger was marking every item produced during that Bicentennial year with the "liberty mark"; "Made in the 200th year of American liberty".
He was trying to get at least one of every firearm they made with the liberty mark on it. Mini-14s were still pretty new then.
I wonder what the value of his collection would be today?

Mini-14 made for a good police weapon, the RUC replaced their .30 carbines with it & the Bermuda Regiment dumped the FN FAL for Mini-14s. I replaced an empty space in my closet with a couple over the years too.
With the price of 5.56 these days, it is well that I've moved along.

Huh. Interesting. I was issued a mini 14 but always preferred the ar because of muscle memory. They were plagued with being inaccurate. A buddy of mine had one that you could wobble the rear site back and forth.

It will be interesting to see how this one turns out.

Ruger actually sells the 20 and 30 round factory magazines now.

Agreed, pushes all my buttons, tempting to pick it up based on looks alone (well, that and previous history with the assorted rugers I've known and loved).

+1 to that Ranger Rock Island Ranger. $2K is approaching a complete LaRue, Noveske, etc.

I  at the fact that they're listing Tapco accessories for it. I mean, come on, Tapco? The Japanese won't even put Tapco parts on their airsoft guns.

Whoops. I was talking about the new Mini-14s, not the AR.
