graduated airborne school

Post by USA1 »

Greetings to all Rangers, soldiers, DEPers, and slugs. I just graduated airborne school on the 25th. My reward for completing airborne is a 24 hour staff duty shift at battalion headquarters. Our class started with 500 and graduated 390. We lost another five RIP contracts during airborne school. We only had about five people get hurt and no serious injuries. We had one guy get a static line wrapped around his neck on the way out the door. That was one bad ass burn on his neck. He's lucky his neck wasn't snapped like a twig. We have 140 soldiers reporting to RIP on wednsday. There are 70 soldiers from A co and 70 from B co 1/507 PIR. RIP hold is overflowing. There are soldiers sleeping on the floors, tables, and anything that will do the job. We expect to be in the Aug. 9th RIP class so we have a month to get back in shape before we start. Airborne school PT isn't the most challenging thing I've ever done. I'll keep you posted on our progress.

One day at a time. Left, right, left. You'll get there.

Congratulations on your completion of Airborne School. You've come a long way but have a long way to go. The mountain in front of you can be climbed.

I'm looking forward to congratulating you to the brotherhood. So close, but so far. Drive on and never, ever, ever quit. Ever.

Congrats on earning those wings! You are now part of a proud airborne tradition and 'fraternity.' Don't let your momentum decline. It's going to get tough now. Ranger Bell's quote above is how black and white it is. The title of Ranger is within your grasp....you can either snatch it in an iron grip, or let it slip through your fingers to the ground....it is all up to YOU. Now, go 'Lead the Way'!

Good Job USA1! Never quit and good luck!

My whole attitude at RIP was that there was absolutely NOTHING that they could do to me to prevent me from becoming a Ranger.......

Better to die at RIP, then leave a quitter!

Sorry about the short post Rangers. I'm on staff duty at 1/507th PIR headquarters and I had to go. I would like to thank you for your replys and I know I have a hard road ahead of me. By no means do I think this is going to be like anything I've done so far. I will not accept defeat and will never quit. I'm highly motivated and have been my entire time here at Ft. Benning waiting for my chance to prove myself at RIP. I will do whatever it takes to reach my goal, no exceptions.
