Oldest To Go Through Ranger School

Does anyone know who is the oldest dude to have gone through Ranger training?

Enquiring minds want to know!

Ain't got a clue. I went through with en E-7 from Korea that was either 41 or 42 (can't remember). He got his shit, but you could really see the miles on him by the mid-point of Florida phase.

Had a guy in my class that was in route to the SGM's academy.

I thought it was the former CSM of the Army Morrell.

I am just wondering because I was thinking bad thoughts about joining the NG and if I did I would love to get a chance to go through Ranger School. I just turned 39 in May. :D

There was definitely a SGM/CSM who was 48 or 49 (who made it through) Might be the same one.

We had a Frenchy go through and he had to be late 30 early 40. He was an LTC or Col.

I am pretty sure it was SFC John Twomey, Ranger Class 6-87.
SFC Twomey had a long break in service before coming back in as an artilleryman in 319th FA.
He turned 50 two weeks after graduating.
Unfortunately, going through Hooah School took a toll on him. Within about two years, he was permanent SDNCO at Division HQ.
