Days off
Days off
Are there any days off or time off in ranger school?
I know this sounds stupid but the reason I am asking is because when I was in basic at Ft. Benning there was a chaplain who said tht he was currently in ranger school and drove from a few hours away on the weekends to give a sermon.
I didn't know how that would work so thats why I am asking.
Thanks Rangers

In the stone age we had two four-hour breaks, before and after mountains.
WE NEED MORE RANGERS!

Maybe he was the chaplain of the Ranger school, not a chaplain going to Ranger schoolm6medic1 wrote:Are there any days off or time off in ranger school?

Re: Days off
That's what I was thinking rgrokelley. When I went through this past summer, I believe they only had 2 chaplains at RTB. We had one at Rogers, and then another up in Dahlonega. When we got down to Florida, the same chaplain from Benning was there. Possibly lived in Georgia or Florida and commuted to either 4th or 6th for his speeches (forgive my ignorance regarding the correct religious term for the speech.)

Re: Days off
I laugh every time I think about the RI using "He's a man of God!" as a reason to smoke you, peering the chaplin: Priceless. You just can't make this stuff up. jjjI peered one outa my squad in Darby (he deserved it). 1SG Grenier smoked the dog shit out of us "HE'S A MAN OF GOD!"

Re: Days off
My son is in Mountain Phase as I write. He finished the first phase, had an 8 hr pass, and shipped to Merrill the next morning. He said he could receive a care package at the end of that before moving to Florida. I'm thinking it's something like basic, you can eat anything you get while in transit.
