Re: Questions about Army Awards
V device and Oak Leaf Clusters can be worn on the same ribbon. The V device will be on the wearers right, or on the left as you look at it.whocares175 wrote:heres a question a buddy of mine or myself can't seem to find the answer to....he's got a bronze star w/v and 2 for service. how does he wear them on the ribbons? does he wear a seperate ribbon for the one for valor or all on the same ribbon?

Re: Questions about Army Awards
I have a question about a combat award. I have only been given a little vague information about it that was second hand, from a Ranger's sibling. It involved performance under fire. As told to me, it had to do with not taking cover while supplying cover fire while others could get to safety. This is all the information I have. If anyone good give me a rough idea as to what award would be given for this, it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
D.
Thanks,

GWOT, I've heard different rumors about how it's awarded, for example, if you have a campaign ribbon for OIF or OEF, then your ineligible for the GWOT. I don't need one, just curious. Thanks!

Thank you! Turns out I was OIF in fall of '05 after the cutoff date. I had a Jarhead at the VFW telling me that you get both over and over and over....damn Marines!

Re: Individual questions about Army Awards
when you only do a 7 month tour (not to take anything from them) I guess that's possible. but I think you only get stars for campaign periods, vs I want one for each trip, as stipulated in the MILPER message about them. USMC should be wearing the same award, with stars upon thars'... I'm thinking Iraq campaign medal vs. GWOT expeditionarypanthersix wrote:Thank you! google MILPER messages, if SB didn't already link that message that covers OIF/OEF Iraq/Afghanastan campaign medals. plus or minus GWOT expeditionary medals.

Re: Individual questions about Army Awards
Naw it's not a USMC thing, it's the date, before early '05 you got both, after, you got the campaign ribbon and not both. SB's links cleared it up for me, thanks again!
