Eotechs are for CQB and quick target acquisition out to a max of 75 yrds in my opinion. I use one daily.

The only other thing I could say is if you want to put a multi-rail system on your rifle, leave the SB on top and put an Eotech on the side.

That way, if your proned out and your position gets compromised up close, you can use the weapon already in your hand. Just cant the rifle to it's side (as if you were shooting with a P-mask) and use the Eotech to quickly aquire and eliminate approaching Tangos.

EOT sights work just fine out to 300m. I've shot it in stress shoots in a multitude of positions without any trouble. It enables a faster sight alignment than a 2x etc scope.

Short of being in a static position, SBF or hide site, there is no reason to go with a magnifying scope.

Since we are talking a long gun, get something with a nice scope. Leupold comes to mind.

I should have clarified, I'm guessing you were shooting 5.56 T?

I shoot 9mm MP5SD, that is why I'm not getting that range out of it.

MP5SD's have a removable suppressor but if you attempt to fire the weapon with the suppressor removed it will blow the handguards off.
