"The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has said there's no evidence the feet were severed or removed from the victims' legs by force."

If they wern't severed, what happened, they just fall off of someone when they were out for a jog and the runner "didn't notice" they were down a foot?

I am thinking that someone out there (err, I mean around here since I am in Tacoma) has a collection of spare parts.

I think what they mean is that they weren't cut off with a saw or an axe or something.
