West SITREP

Postby West » January 2nd, 2008, 8:14 am

Graduated BCT at Fort Benning back on Dec. 13th. Ran into a setback coming down with pneumonia in my first cycle, being admitted to MACH for 4 days(with 2 days in the infirmary before that) caused me to be recycled day 1. PT dropped after getting off a 2 week dead man profile, but was able to work back up to 65 PU's, 76 SU's, and a 14:15 on the 2 mile. My run times being affected the most by the weakness in my lungs even though I managed to keep up with A group.

All in all my extended stay at Fort Benning made me a stronger person mentally and has definitely helped me prioritize my goal of becoming a Ranger. I fly out for Fort Sam Houston on the 3rd and know quite a few medics with RIP contracts so hopefully will be able to link up with them once I'm there.

Been awhile since I've posted a SITREP. Graduated airborne back at the end of May and just completed Cole Range at RIP this past week. We have the 5 mile run and written test tomorrow. Can't wait for the 27th to be here. In the mean time my efforts are on ensuring I walk onto the Ranger Memorial that day.

Holy Dogshit, Batman!.. Could it be?... TWO medics graduating RIP at the same time???...

In less than one week you will have a job that will make you want seek out all of your medic buddies that quit and tell them, "Dude, you really fucked up!"...

Don't get a DUI!...

Today I donned my tan beret and scroll with class 09-08. It's been a long and challenging road with much further to go but feels good to have gotten this far. I felt a feeling I can't really describe after being welcomed to the brotherhood. Thank you Rangers for everything you've done for this country and thank you Ranger Capellanus for your mentorship.
