Pay Attention
This is a post mostly for the DEPs/NEWTs here.
Two days ago was a sad day for my unit. We had to send home our first WIA. What made it all the worse was that it happened due to some dumb ass not paying attention to where his M-4 was pointing on the range. He shot a fellow through both legs.
Turns out this guy got an Article 15 in Basic for having an ND (Notice I called it a Negligent Discharge, not an AD as the army calls it. A weapon will not fire due to an accident, only negligence).
People die over here every fucking day and thats bad enough. But when we have to send our people home for something like this...it pisses me off to no end. Had the range safety not gotten there before I did I would have probably ripped his fucking head off.
DONT be that one who kills his battle buddy because he is trying to be cool.

1. Treat every weapon as if it is loaded.
2. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot.
3. Don't point your weapon at anything you're not willing to destroy.
4. Know your target and beyond.
Those four rules are the bottom line. Prayers out for your wounded comerade.

Only 3 real rules you need to follow when you are in the Army:
1. Look Cool
2. Don't Get Caught
3. If Caught...Look Cool
Smoking your buddy through the thighs definately violates rule #1. Farckin' tards.

At least you aren't going to a funeral. Been to 2 because of poor muzzle awareness/improper handling. Too many if you ask me..
They should crush this soldier's nuts and make him eat them.

Here's a lesson that's free to you, DEPS:
ASSUME ALL WEAPONS ARE LOADED UNTIL YOU HAVE CLEARED THEM!
I don't care if you just saw someone else clear it. YOU didn't look in the barrel or in the magazine. YOU have NO FUCKING IDEA what's going on inside that weapon. CLEAR IT!

You nailed it right on the head Ranger The Sleepy Doc. I have only been to 3 memorials (was deployed and couldn't make it stateside, though I did go see the families after redeploying). Thats 3 too fucking many. The Sleepy Doc wrote:At least you aren't going to a funeral. Been to 2 because of poor muzzle awareness/improper handling. Too many if you ask me..

When he realized what he did, this oxygen thief, well call him PFC Shitbrick, said "My bad" I might only be 21 but seriously? "Ah shit homie I just tried to kill you dude, you dont need those legs, My Bad"
Ill say it once more for emphasis....DONT be that fuckstain.
Also, a quick update, I found out recently from my Top that the wounded soldier is in Germany and stable, though he will lose 30% use in his left leg and 50-60 in his right. His career is over, because of PFC Shitbrick. Which that in itself is horrible, because he truly was one of those who loved what he did, planned on reenlisting sometime in the near future.
DEPs/Newts, Already in this topic has been some of the best and easiest to understand instructions.
Live by it, or someone else might not.42L5V wrote:1. Treat every weapon as if it is loaded.
