Proud Father of deployed Ranger TF 51, F Co 51st INF. He is hard on PERSEC/OPSEC, so I don't expect much info, just his shopping list. He's a team leader with a fresh promotion to SSG and a new wife.
I work for a DOD contractor. I get to a number of Bases and Forts and get some insight, hope to get more here. Bidding and building on a few of BRAC projects.

Thank you for your welcome.
One point I would like to clarify. I helped my son learn some of the attitudes and abilities, but he was not quite a man when he shipped out to OSUT. Between jump school and earning his Ranger tab a great transformation occurred. Rangers made a good man out of my son! Thank you.

Been there since July. Started at COB and then to FOB and now back. He's bored, not many LRS missions. Likes his team, all but 2 are Rangers. Wonder sometimes if bored is just a line for dad. He's glad to be back at the COB since the workout facility is closer and not as crowded. Sent him a real light professional photographer's monopod a few weeks ago that got some field use. I let him know about this site and will see if he will sign on.

We started out with LRS missions for the first couple of months. Our mission changed after that. Near the end of the deployment my platoon went back to do doing surveillance. Not your typical LRS mission, but it was still surveillance. I wish him the best of luck. If they are still in the same area as we were then it stays pretty quiet around their.Lanista wrote:Been there since July. Started at COB and then to FOB and now back. Leroy and Lanista, these are not the types of things to get into in public.
Please take it to PM's before you discuss missions and or descriptive area's, etc.
