Unarmed worshiper confronted church shooter

Post by VengefulIcebox »

Man shouted ‘Coward!’ at gunman, earning his attention and a graze wound.

Larry Bourbannais had decided after the Columbine massacre what he would do if he were ever in a similar situation, so when shots rang out in the church he attended, the heroic Vietnam veteran acted decisively.

There is an answer...but it ain't perdy enough to be PC...

Allow Civilians to open-carry handguns....wild wild west style...it would cause a ton of problems for about 6 months...but after that, those of us who are left will be living in a fairly peaceful society.

Then again, there must have been a reason that they started restricting unlimited and open carry to begin with...hmmm....AC, I think you are right...there is no realistic answer....

The female that actually took the Active Shooter out deserves a National Medal. She credits "God" for giving her the strength to run into the battle... but, I say... where EVER she found the strength from, Good ON YOU Lady.

Can you just imagine how this would have turned out, had there not been an armed citizen in the midst, willing to do what had to be done?

I'll bet that man's four daughters are quite proud of their dad's bravery. He showed quite a bit of restraint in not cold-cocking the dumbass security guard, and taking his weapon to engage the gunman, regardless of any prosecution he might have received for that action. I wonder if he would have changed his course of action if the second guard had not shown up, the shooter continued to send out rounds, and the dude next to him had continued to imitate the local shrubbery.

With this story the only thing that keeps running through my mind is that, in my state, CC permit holders cannot carry (legally) in a church.

A lot of states still allow you to carry a pistol western style as long as it's in the open. I don't think that taking a .45 to church is a bad thing.

Actually, until the CC passed in Texas, you were allowed to open carry. Now it's illegal except under rare situation (you are on you own property, licensed security guard in a distinctive uniform, etc.).

And good on that woman...she DOES deserve come kind of National Award.

Nevada allows you to wear a holstered open pistol, although I have yet to see it happen. I dare say you would probbably be shot if you walked into a casino.

If their carry laws are similar to Georgia (and I'd bet they are..) you would get in less trouble for stopping the commission of a felony than for just bringing the gun to church (or a bar or other public place..)

I'll bet the "security guard" is gonna have a hard time finding work from now on.. (after getting his ass beat for not doing anything..)

I know Missouri you can carry a pistol exposed and in a holster. When I was in AZ there were old men in Tombstone doing the same thing.

Florida is still open-carry, or at least it used to be...though, I have never seen anyone who wasn't some sort of Law Enforcement carry open.

Fuck Politically Correct! It has done nothing except flush our country into a downward spiral of impotent, self-absorbed, shit.

I'm all for going back to the wild-west days, and vigilante-justice. My housekeeper called today, crying. Someone in her neighborhood killed her neighbor's cat because they did not sign a petition to ban pets from the neighborhood. That fucker that killed the neighbor's pet should be shot. Is a human life worth more than an animal life? Yes, unless it's my animal that was killed out of meanness.

I'm ready to move away from civilization, and out into the wild, where neighbors are few and far between, and can rely on each other.

Who wants to start a compound out in the wilderness? :D
