I've found out today I will be needing a moral waiver for some stuff I got in trouble with when I was 12 and 13. I was informed I will not be able to get an 18xray contract or much less an option40 because of the waiver and because of the injuries I sustained years ago. That I will have to join with an infantry MOS and prove myself before I can get my shot at Special Forces or Ranger School, something I am more than willing to do.
See another recruiter.

You're a tad bit more paper-work intensive than the average Joe. The recruiter is concerned with getting you in the Army not in a specific unit.
This is not to say he's lazy but rather that you caught him at the end of the month. See another office next week at the start of the month where the recruiter may not be so pressured to meet mission.

Stay focused on this and don't take no for an answer. If they try to be awkward...walk out.

They'll call you back.
