Are you fucking kidding me? Do these school administrators have ANY idea of how many people make maps for Counterstrike and similar games? Of those people, one of the very first maps they will ever make is of their home or their school. Why? Because it's what they know best. They know what their school looks like, because they're there every day."A student at the Houston-area Clements High School was arrested, sent to an "Alternative Education Center" and banned from graduation after school officials found he created a video game map of his school. School district police arrested the teen and searched his home where they confiscated a hammer as a 'potential weapon'. ' "They decided he was a terroristic threat,"
When I was a kid, I was making maps for Wolfenstein3D and Doom all the time. At least half of my maps were based on places I had been to in real life. My home, my school and the local swimming pool were things I kept doing, because I didn't have the architecture background to think up very detailed new buildings from scratch.
And seizing a fucking hammer as a potential weapon? What the fuck was wrong with those officers? Where they seriously just looking for something to snag as "proof" that he was up to no good? This knee-jerk mob-rule paranoia shit needs to go away. Expelling an honor roll student because he likes to play video games is retarded.
