This may be temporary if the city successfully appeals to the Supreme Court, but for now you can have guns in Washington DC. This has been a long time coming.

Yeah, the 9th circuit has a reputation for being pretty liberal.Sapper Mike wrote:Even better, they declare that the 2nd Amendment is an INDIVIDUAL right, like the others in the Bill of Rights, not some Collective right, as had been stated by the Supreme Court in the MILLER Decision. What this does is set three or four District Courts of Appeal against each other, most recently the 9th Circuit in California against the D.C. Court of Appeals. The Supremes have to clarify the disconnect when two Districts hold diametrically opposed views. Three of the current justices have stated that they believe the 2nd is an Individual Right, and neither Roberts, Thomas, nor Kennedy are among those justices.

I am curious as to how often the Supreme Court overturns rulings by the Appeals court ?

......and cars cause drunk driving.Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty said the ruling could put more guns in the hands of young people. "I am personally deeply disappointed and quite frankly outraged by today's decision," he said. "Today's decision flies in the face of laws that have helped decrease gun violence in the District of Columbia."

They actually reverse decisions from appelate quite often (in regards to LE issues). I'm not sure about issues that are more social in nature though...Flesh Thorn wrote:I am curious as to how often the Supreme Court overturns rulings by the Appeals court ?
