Anyone else reporting to Ranger School for class 04-07?

I heard from 03-07 students on leave that there are going to be some new changes to RAP week in order to allow more time for patrolling.

yeah... i know we were the last class to do the bayonet assault course. you'll also do the 5 miler as part of the PT test instead of doing a 2 miler. other than that i have no idea. good luck. RAP week is tons of fun let me tell ya.

G2 I got so far is this:

CWST is gone or combined with water-obstacle course.

5 mile run is now part of the APFT and is a release run, time standard is still the same.

Bayonet assault course is gone, and the 2.5 buddy run is replaced with a cross country buddy-run / assault course.

Think the idea behind the changes is to shorten RAP week in order to get more days of patrolling.

Hopefully if all goes well I will let everyone know how it went on 9 March.

This is a joke right?        A fucking metronome...OMG you gotta be kidding me. What happened to just doing as many fucking pushups as you can until you cant push anymore? Who the fuck needs to keep rhythm?
Ranger Tenn-RGR,

It was a word that was unofficially announced by the LTO cadre here. Those were one of the event changes on the laundry list.

Not sure about the pushups, or anything else for that matter. All I can say is I am not going to worry about G2ing the course, I will just show up and deal with whatever gets thrown at me.

I have heard about 4-5 rumors about the "new RAP week" from people who just finished Ranger, are still in Ranger, and like myself are on the way there.

If the standards are a little different, I don't think it will make much difference to someone if they came prepared in the first place.

FFE_K - I am guessing you are arty. So good luck and make the other redlegs proud. We need as many as we can get in branches other than infantry. Helps to spread the "Ranger Way" around the Army.
