Intro - Bulldawgs07

Post by Bulldawgs07 »

Hey everyone. I'm an MSIV cadet at Yale, do ROTC through the UConn batallion. I'm going to be commissioned in May in the Infantry (don't know where I'm headed yet), so I'm pretty much just hoping to get some insight on Ranger school and Infantry in general through these boards.

Welcome and I am willing being in ROTC is not the most popular activity at Yale. What is the general reaction from the campus populace?

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. Avatar situation corrected, I wasn't sure what exactly qualified as a "newt."

Ranger Bill: You would be assuming correctly. There's only two Army cadets here, and we're both seniors. Two more AF and maybe three Marine summer program people and that's it. Yale banned us in 67 and academic credit in 69. We do classes, lab, and PT half an hour away at Sacred Heart University, where our company is located. That's better than last semester though, we had to go 70 miles to UConn for class and lab due to lack of personnel in the Sacred Heart company.

Well, Yalie, you only get one opportunity to make a favorable initial impression -- you get a go at this station. You came to the right place to gain some insights. Please allow me to commend you for the fortitude to complete the ROTC program -- knowing it requires additional effort on your part. As you prepare yurself for commissioning, please read all the FAQs, stickies, and selected threads and give some thought to what the Ranger Creed means. PM inbound.

Thanks for the further welcomes. Ranger Jim, just so you know I didn't receive a PM in my inbox.

As to the pizza question, I'm going to have to go with Pepe's, but only because I've never been to Sally's. They're both pretty far from campus.
