The Battalion's go on block leave before and after deployments, unless you have a family emergency, those are the only times you can really go on leave. Your son will be new and have A LOT of stuff to do to get up to speed like everyone else!

Yes, it's safe to say he will have A LOT of stuff to do...a lot of sweating, push ups, low crawling, flash/flood drills (I hated that shit). Man, he is in for the adventure of his life.
