Rangers, thank you for allowing me to use this board. I am 20 years old and currently a student, I have decided that when I graduate I will enter the Army and attempt to get a Ranger contract. I feel it is important to finish my education , though I do not think I will try to become an officer and enlist instead. Thank you for this great site and all the information you have provided.

Ranger Paperstreet 2/75 I want to go enlisted because I still have so much to learn about being a soldier. Perhaps in the future I could persue becoming an officer, but I think I would benefit as a person and then latter as an officer by going in enlisted first. In some ways I am afraid of the responsibility of being an enlisted soldier, let alone the responsibilty an officer has. I think I need to learn to walk before I run.

Don't kid yourself, bud, the difference in responsibility is one of degree, not substance.

I agree with your wanting to go enlisted first, but if it's responsibility you're worried about, maybe you should consider waiting tables or selling shoes.
