Intro

Post by chadbt »

Hello,

My name is Chad (name removed by Moderator SF - PERSEC). I am 24 years young. I am currently enrolled in DEP. I will be shipping to FT. Benning on 20060523. My MOS is 11x with Airborne option. I am considering going to RIP once I am through Airborne. My recruiter advised me not to add option 40 because if I was to get hurt during Airborne and washed out of RIP or not even go it would be hard to get another shot.

I am from South Carolina and currently reside in Dallas, TX. I am Computer Consultant and have been sitting on my ass for about 6 years. I was also a smoker (which I have been free of for about 3 months). I am currently working out and preparing myself as best as I can for the adventure I am about to embark on. I can't wait to ship. Everyday is like 100 hour days.

Thanks,
Chad XXXXXX

PS. I am looking forward to all the advice this site has to offer.

Not sure how to edit my post.

EDIT - I am still looking forward and hoping to attend RIP. My main goal for the future is to become an Army Ranger.

Go COCKS!

Sounds like your recruiter fed you a line...here's my opinion-never take the counsel of your fears, or plan your life based on what might go wrong.

Get hurt in Jump school? Hell, you might get run over by a truck tomorrow, is that going to change your plans?

Oh, yeah....welcome.

My recruiter advised me not to add option 40 because if I was to get hurt during Airborne and washed out of RIP or not even go it would be hard to get another shot.
This doesn't make any fucking sense unless he was talking about you not being sure you wanted to go to RIP in the first place.

No, no he was saying I shouldn't have it added to my contract because if I was to get hurt during BCT or Jump school before going into RIP that I will not be 100% and would end up washing out or not going at all. If this was to happen it would be near impossible for me to get another shot in the future if this happened.

I want to go to RIP and I hope during or after Airborne I will be afforded the opportunity of attending.

Thanks,
