can i renegociate for an op 40

Post by ArmyPFC »

ok here's my ###### up situation...
I did the split op thing as a junior now im a senior and already signed an active contract as a 13f. i had no op4 or op40 or 11b which is the perfect job for me "it wasnt available cuz its OUST and ive already been to bct and the class dates just cant line up and on top of that infantry and airborne are turning people down there so full" - recruiter and meps counsulor. this pissed me off cuz me goal and purpose in life is to be in the 82nd or Ranger. My asvab is an 88 and my gt is 126, im healthy and meet the req.

What can i do can i renegociate my contract for mos 11b and op 40, i really dont want to just have a small chance of it by request at ait. i would be fine with 13f but i want the op 4 or 40 really bad. Also my uncle who just retired from the navy knows a Ranger LTC at Ft. Benning is there any recommendation or request i can ask him to give
Thank You Rangers for your help

P.S. while im here do all rangers get the option to qual and carry an m9?

if you are going to have enough pride to put a unit at the bottom of your post, have enough pride to list it properly.

In addition to your other issues, you are unable to communicate in English. I counted 18 errors on your initial message in this thread. Please refer to Ranger KH's note.

Your #1 problem is staring you in the face. How can EITHER the 82nd or the Ranger Regiment be your life goal? It's one or the other.....or are you suggesting that you'll be happy with an 82nd assignment when you VW at RIP?

That's great that your healthy.....BUT......RIP is as much mental as it is physical. PT studs crack when its 0330, your wet, miserable, hungry, tired, and cold.....oh yeah, and getting smoked.

Re-evaluate your "life goal."

Thank you for the advice. :D
My #1 goal is the Ranger Battalion, what i meant about the 82nd was if I cant get op 40 I would at least like to start in an Airborne unit.
Thanks again... and does anyone know about renegociating a contract?

Back in '88 I could have gone to the 82nd. Thats were I actually wanted to go when I came in and before I volunteered for the Regt. It's an Airborne unit, it was only 60 miles from home. What else could I ask for right! Everyone in my RIP class that failed or quit went there.

All I had to do was quit RIP!
