intro #2

Post by Joker4 »

Alright, some may not have liked my intro. So let me tell you a little more about myself and what I have done. Currently I deliver BEER in Austin, TX. I got out of the Marines in June of 05. Just needed a break!!! I was in the infantry for my four year enlistment. I know that the Army offers a lot more schools and money for combat related jobs. I have always wanted to persue a career in Special Forces, so I am trying to go for it and make that happen.
I am very interested in the Army Ranger/Special Forces. I am not sure which one would be better to try and start out in. I dont want to risk trying out for one or the other and getting dropped for something and sent back to the grunts. I told the recruiter that I talk to I wanted to be in a Ranger BAT, and I wanted that in my contract. Cant get a real answer out of him.
So if anyone has advice on what I should or could do to help my chances of becoming a Ranger or getting in SF.
Austin, TX. I am a prior service Marine. I am very interested in joining the Army, particularly in Special Forces or Rangers.

The Army's Marines?

Who the hell is "we?" If you're talking about ex-Marines who have joined the Army, fine.

If you're saying Rangers are the Army's Marines, go eat some buggers out of noses of dead bodies. Maybe you want to make love to dead girls, too.

This ain't the ninth grade. I can't speak for other Rrangers, but you insult the hell out of me.

Lighten up youngster. Maybe you need professional help...

The recruiter tried to tell that I could get jump and ranger school right away. I asked if that means that I would be able to stay in the ranger bat after ranger school. He said at the end of ranger school that the rangers and sf come out and ask for people to join or try out.
I had some other friends tell me that it is only ranger school and that unless I get a ranger bat in contract, go to the school and then to a infantry bat. They also told me that if I just go straight to a ranger bat that eventually I be able to go to ranger school.
So I am telling my recruiter that I want a ranger bat, and all he has told me is I need to re-take my asvab.

I don't know if they changed the rules of late, Prior service doesn't get all the high speed options on a silver platter. If you enter as Inf. they will give you an 11X (needs of the Army)and if you don't make nice with someone at the 30th AG you will be screwed.

Your intro still sucks, Pete
