info on medal awarded

Post by RangerPop »

Can anyone advise me about how to get the information and citation describing circumstances on how a soldier won a recent Bronze Star?
Thanks.

RangerPop, you need to go post an Intro in the proper forum.

You also need to get an avatar.

The citations for GWOT, OEF & OIF citations to the Ranger Regt & SOF in general tend to be very vague, without references to the location or date of the action concerned & very general as to the action itself.
"SGT Tentpeg engaged a determined enemy at enormous risk to his life & was really, really brave, saving US lives, making his unit & the US Army look really, really great"
OK, not so trite, but not much more enlightening.
Check the PIO for the soldier's command & FOIA it. It's a long shot but you might luck out.
Servicemembers who are no longer serving can have their records accessed by FOIA requests, which is a good way to out posers.
