COMING OUT OF AIT( FEW MONTHS AGO) I GOT A 335 ON MY PT TEST. I WANNA KNOW WHATS LIKE THE AVERAGE PT SCORE RANGERS USUALLY GET? AND IS MY SCORE GOOD ENOUGH TO HANG WIT THE OTHER IN BATT?

P.T SCORES
PT SCORE!?
Your score is on the "extended scale"..thats just a tool commanders use during "competitions" or "boards"......i dont think you could score that when you show up to RIP, through my experiences, i dont think you were doing them correctly. next time try all the down and all the way up, on both the sit ups and push ups, and then go for your run, dont forget the pull ups at the end of the 2-mile run. besides, you dont want to be GREAT at one thing ...like a PT test...you need to be GOOD at alot of things.....remeber you got to carry a RUCK at least 12 miles!!
SERVED IN A CO 1ST RANGER BATTALION FROM 31MAR92 TO 20SEP01; 75TH PRE RANGER FROM 21SEP01 TO 20APR03. GRADUATED RANGER SCHOOL ON 13MAY94 CLASS 6-94.

Re: P.T SCORES
i know what kind of pushups get counted at Ft Gordon during PT Tests..so I highly doubt you can do that at Ranger Batt.Kingflutterkicks wrote:COMING OUT OF AIT( FEW MONTHS AGO) I GOT A 335 ON MY PT TEST. You need excellent overall fitness. In signal units, you do PT & that's all the actual physical challenge you'll face, except maybe changing a tire on a commo van or dodging the antenna when it blows over.
In the RR, most days you're 'doing something' all day, every day, e(ven the HHCs sometimes ) requiring excellent mental toughness as well. Lots of studs don't get past Day 1 of RIP.
I've seen lots of bodybuilders who couldn't handle loading a truck.
Go toughen up & get some callouses.
No way to prep for rucking except rucking. Break some boots & your feet in, if you haven't started that yet, you're late.
